The Independent Expert Scientific Committee on Unconventional Gas Development and Large Coal Mining Development (IESC) meets to discuss unconventional gas and large coal mining projects.
Meeting schedule
IESC meetings are used to discuss unconventional gas and large coal mining projects and other matters, such as:
- research projects
- engagement activities
- site visits.
The IESC meets approximately 10 times a year. By law, the IESC must hold at least one meeting every year.
Meeting location
Meetings can be held at any national location, typically in Queensland, New South Wales, the Australian Capital Territory, or other locations as required. Since 2020, many meetings have been conducted virtually.
