The Independent Expert Scientific Committee on Coal Seam Gas and Large Coal Mining Development (IESC) is a statutory committee of leading scientists that independently advises government regulators on the impacts that coal seam gas and large coal mining development may have on Australia’s water resources.
The Explanatory Note: Subsidence Associated with Coal Seam Gas Production and the Draft National Minimum Groundwater Monitoring Guidelines are now open for public consultation. Submissions on the draft documents close at 5.00pm (AEST), Friday 9 June 2023. The IESC welcomes submissions from interested organisations and the public.
